Intervista a Wesley Snipes

Wesley Snipes who starred alongside Michael in his Bad video (directed by Martin Scorsese), discusses the King of Pop in a new interview and says that he was an angel.

Snipes says: “I think he was an angel that was sent to us, and I think that we might have to reflect on how well we took care of him. People like to say ‘oh people around him were bad and they didn’t do right by him’ but I think it’s a collective too because I don’t know the last time and I can’t remember any other artist that attracted that much energy and projected that much power. That was that creative, and affected so many people…was such a diplomat for America and a champion for the American culture and African-American people, worldwide. You know, people wanted to move to America because of Michael Jackson, industry changed, music industry changed because of Michael Jackson, that’s a gift to us and you know I’m concerned that the good Lord may not send another one because maybe we didn’t take good care of him. That’s just me.

The amazing thing, I was only meant to be on the film, the project for three days and it turned out to be like 3 and a half weeks almost a month of filming and the thing I took from it the most was watching Michael Jackson perform at performance level in his rehearsals. I said ‘wow that’s the consummate artist right there, that’s the pinnacle of where I would like to go and the kind of skills I would like to have as an artist that I can come and my rehearsals are performances. You know. So, I took that from him and that’s what I’ve been trying, to be consistent with in my work as well.”

Wesley Snipes che ha recitato al fianco di Michael nel suo video Bad (diretto da Martin Scorsese), parla del Re del Pop in una nuova intervista e dice che lui era un angelo.

Snipes dice:"Penso che lui fosse un angelo inviato a noi e penso che dovremmo riflettere sul modo in cui l'abbiamo trattato. Alla gente piace dire "Oh, le persone attorno a lui erano cattive e non si sono comportate bene con lui" ma io penso che sia anche una cosa comune perché io non so quando è stata l’ultima volta e non riesco a ricordare nessun altro artista che abbia attratto così tanta energia e proiettato così tanta potenza.
Era così creativo e ha colpito così tante persone… E’ stato un diplomatico per l’America ed un campione per la cultura americana e per la gente Afro-Americana,i n tutto il mondo. Sai,la gente voleva trasferirsi in America per Michael Jackson, l’industria è cambiata,l’industria musicale è cambiata a causa di Michael Jackson, è stato un dono per noi e sai, io sono preoccupato per il fatto che il buon Dio non può inviarne un altro perché forse non ci siamo presi bene cura di lui.

La cosa incredibile,io ero solo tenuto ad essere nel film,il programma era di tre giorni ma si trasformarono in tre settimane e mezzo quasi un mese di riprese e quello che mi ha preso di più è stato vedere Michael Jackson esibirsi a quel livello di performance durante le sue prove. Ho detto "Wow,che artista eccellente abbiamo qui, quello è il culmine a cui mi piacerebbe arrivare e il tipo di capacità che mi piacerebbe avere come artista, a cui posso arrivare e far sì che le mie prove siano vere performance". Sai. Così è questo che ho imparato da lui ed è quello che stavo cercando, per essere coerente al meglio col mio lavoro".
