Siedah Garret shares MJ memories on her Facebook
MEMORIES OF MJ: One night while on stage performing our duet "I Just Can't Stop Loving You", I accidentally sang Michael's part. Then when it came time for him to sing, he gave me a look like "WTF?"
MEMORIES OF MJ: One day Michael asked me, "Sid, why do black girls move their necks from side to side sometimes when they're telling you something?" I said, "That's so you can have something to focus on while you are bein' read!"
MEMORIES OF MJ: Michael once showed up to rehearsal wearing a pair of mismatched sox. When I asked him about it, he explained that he got dressed in a rush. The next day at rehearsal, he made a point to show me his sox. Excitedly pointing to his feet, he said, "Look, Sid." I looked down responding, "Yeah, Michael, they match each other, but they don't match with nothin' else you've got on!"
MEMORIES OF MJ: After Michael approved the song demo of "Man In The Mirror", Quincy asked me to come to the studio to record a new guide vocal in a lower key. Michael came in and personally videotaped the entire session. Totally surreal! But, can you imagine what other rare footage is stored in his vaults?
MEMORIES OF MJ: Michael had a childlike sense-of-humor. While in the studio recording our duet "I Just Can't Stop Loving You", he began tossing popcorn in my face in an effort to make me mess-up. Producer Quincy Jones, not seeing this, began to chastise me for flubbing the takes. Michael, on the other hand, was just CRACKING UP! Love you MJ.

RICORDI DI MJ: Una notte, mentre sul palco stavamo eseguendo il nostro duetto "I Just Can't Stop Loving You", per sbaglio ho cantato la parte di Michael. Così quando è arrivato il momento per lui di cantare, mi ha lanciato uno sguardo tipo "WTF?"( in italiano Ma che c..zo? )
RICORDI DI MJ: Un giorno Michael mi chiese: "Sid, perché le ragazze nere muovono il collo da un lato all'altro a volte quando stanno raccontando qualcosa?" Risposi "Così puoi avere qualcosa su cui concentrarti mentre vieni studiato!"
RICORDI DI MJ: Michael una volta si presentò alle prove indossando un paio di calzini spaiati. Quando gli chiesi spiegazioni disse che si era vestito in fretta. Il giorno successivo alle prove era importante per lui farmi vedere i suoi calzini. Indicando tutto eccitato i suoi piedi disse: "Guarda, Sid". Guardai e risposi: "Sì, Michael, sono appaiati, ma non si intonano con nessun'altra cosa che hai addosso!"
RICORDI DI MJ: Dopo che Michael aveva approvato la demo della canzone "Man In The Mirror", Quincy mi chiese di venire in studio per registrare una nuova guida vocale in chiave minore. Michael entrò e videoregistrò tutta la sessione personalmente. Totalmente surreale! Potete immaginare quali altri rari filmati ci sono nel suo archivio?
RICORDI DI MJ: Michael aveva un senso dell'umorismo infantile. Mentre eravamo nello studio a registrare il nostro duetto "I Just Can't Stop Loving You", iniziò a lanciarmi popcorn in faccia nel tentativo di farmi confondere. Il produttore Quincy Jones, non accorgendosi di questo, cominciò a rimproverarmi per gli errori che facevo. Michael, invece, era piegato in due dal ridere! Ti amo MJ.

MEMORIES OF MJ: We were in Romania on the "Dangerous World Tour." At one point in the show, all of the music would stop, and everyone on stage would freeze. One night I froze bent at the hip with my bottom in the air. Next thing I knew, MJ stood behind me and gave me one good spank on the bottom. I popped up like a jack-in-the-box! He knew I wasn't expecting that. The look of shock on my face was priceless as he giggled and danced away. The next time I saw him, he asked me how I felt about it. My response? "Why didn't you use BOTH hands?!"
RICORDI DI MJ: Eravamo in Romania per il "Dangerous World Tour". Ad un certo punto dello show, tutta la musica si è fermata, e tutti sul palco si sono bloccati. Una notte mi sono piegata come congelata a livello dell'anca, con il mio sedere in aria. Sapevo che MJ stava dietro di me e mi ha dato uno sculaccione sul fondoschiena. Sono saltata come un jack-in-the-box! Sapeva che non me lo aspettavo. Lo sguardo di shock sulla mia faccia era impagabile lui rise mentre ballava a distanza. La volta successiva che lo vidi mi ha chiesto come mi sentivo a riguardo. La mia risposta? "Perché non hai utilizzato entrambe le mani?"
