SPECIAL INTERNATIONAL ARTIST AWARD (22 Giugno 1995)

On June 22, 1995, after receiving the "Special International Artist Award" for record sales and humanitarian achievements from actor Morgan Freeman, at the VH1 Honors in Los Angeles, California, Michael Jackson draws attention to the poverty and health issues plaguing Third-World countries and their children, not before is thank-you's: "Thank you, Morgan, for your words, thank you, VH1... Thank you - thank you for this honor, and thank you - thank you , all my friends and fans for your love and support. You've given me so much, it allowed me to take some of that love and pass it on to those people whose problems in this world need and deserve our help. A perfect example is the recent U.N. announcement that 1 to 3 million lives could be saved if Third-World children were given a vitamin A pill three times a year. Cost per child is just six cents, that's all." Concluding his speech, he stresses: "So we must join together in healing the world, so we can share this beautiful planet in joy and love. I love you very much."

Il 22 giugno 1995, dopo aver ricevuto il premio "Special International Artist" per le vendite da record ed i successi umanitari dall' attore Morgan Freeman durante i VH1 Honors a Los Angeles, California, Michael Jackson richiama l'attenzione sui problemi della povertà e della salute che affliggono il Terzo Mondo: "Grazie Morgan, per le sue parole, grazie VH1...grazie, grazie per questo onore, e vi ringrazio...ringrazio tutti i miei amici ed i fans per il vostro amore ed il sostegno. Mi avete dato tanto, mi avete dato quell' amore che ho preso e ritrasmesso a quelle persone i cui problemi meritano il nostro aiuto. Un perfetto esempio è il recente annuncio delle Nazioni Unite che da 1 a 3.000.000 di vite potrebbero essere salvate se i bambini del Terzo Mondo ricevessero una compressa di vitamina A tre volte all'anno. Il costo per ogni bambino è di soli sei centesimi, questo è tutto". Concludendo il suo discorso sottolinea: "Allora dobbiamo unire le forze per la guarigione del mondo, in modo da poter condividere questo bellissimo pianeta in gioia e amore...vi amo molto".
