Partly MJ estate owned Sony/ATV signs strategic alliance for India

Sony/ATV Music Publishing Llc, the music publishing firm formed by Sony Music Global and the estate of Michael Jackson, is entering India by signing an exclusive strategic alliance with Sony Music Entertainment India Pvt. Ltd. Sony/ATV represents an array of artists, while Sony Music India is well-entrenched in different genres of Indian Music.

Apart from facilitating the global firm’s India entry, the tie-up will also help it manage Sony Music India’s publishing works in overseas markets. Sony Music India, on its part, will market and manage Sony/ATV’s publishing works across four countries; India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. This will be done a joint venture company under the brand name Sony/ATV Music Publishing India.

Confirming the development, Guy Henderson, senior vice-president (international) for Sony/ATV Music Publishing, said the company administers over 750,000 copyrights worldwide and has 32 officies in 23 countries. India could be one of the top 10 markets (for the group) within the next three to four years.

Since the estate of Michael Jackson owns 50 % of Sony/ATV Music Publishing this is yet another profitable undertake for the estate.

Sony / ATV Music Publishing Llc, la casa editrice musicale formata da Sony Music Global e l'Estate di Michael Jackson, sta entrando in India con la firma di un alleanza strategica ed esclusiva con la Sony Music Entertainment India Pvt Ltd.
Sony / ATV rappresenta una serie di artisti, mentre Sony Music India è ben radicata in diversi generi della musica indiana.

Oltre ad agevolare l'ingresso dell'India nella società globale, l'accordo aiuterà anche a gestire le pubblicazioni della Sony Music India nei mercati esteri. Sony Music India, da parte sua, potrà gestire e commerciare le pubblicazioni Sony / ATV 's in quattro paesi: India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh e Nepal. Sarà fatta una società joint venture con il marchio Sony / ATV Music Publishing India.

Confermando gli sviluppi, Guy Henderson, vice-presidente (internazionale) per Sony / ATV Music Publishing, ha detto che la società gestisce oltre 750.000 diritti d'autore in tutto il mondo e dispone di 32 Uffici in 23 Paesi. L'India potrebbe essere uno dei principali 10 mercati (per il gruppo) entro i prossimi 3-4 anni.

Dato che l'Estate di Michael Jackson detiene il 50% del Catalogo musicale Sony / ATV questo sarà un unlteriore investimento proficuo per l'Estate.
