Global Live Events Go Bust



(Stereoboard) - When Stereoboard first wrote about Global Live Events, they were a company plagued by ongoing controversy and argument over the infamous Michael Forever Tribute concert they held at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium last month. There were boycott’s from MJ fans saying that it was a money-making scam, fans saying the line-up simply wasn’t a fitting tribute to the King of Pop and that tickets were grossly overpriced.

So it was a little surprising when the concert (seemingly) went ahead with no problems whatsoever – apart from the fact that the Black Eyed Peas pulled-out last minute amid suspicious rumours that they were to break up. Following the concert, you probably expected never to hear about the organiser Global Live Events again – until now as it emerges that the company may have gone into administration with workers and personnel that worked on the show left unpaid for their work, according to reports from users on Twitter and Facebook.

The news comes after a handful of the apparently unpaid employees took to Twitter to get their voices heard, using the hashtags #unpaidMJTalentTeam and #HELPGETMEPAID. And it’s not just some of the backstage crew who haven’t been paid, as one user wrote that the event’s administration team had not been paid and neither had artists who had performed at the concert. He went on to say that perhaps even the charities, which included the AIDS Project LA and the Princes Trust, may have been left without their promised donations from fans.

While Stereoboard cannot confirm these rumours, a Twitter user named Dom Pisani has been tweeting and writing about the company these past few days, after it appears he learnt that GLE had gone bust. He’s received dozens of re-tweets and messages of support from the same MJ fans that hounded the promotors to not go ahead with the concert.

He wrote on the 10th of November: “Not impressed that Global Live Events have gone bust leaving all who work tirelessly on the MJ Tribute concert unpaid!! #unpaidMJTalentTeam.”

He’s since followed this up with many messages, including: “Still no payment from Michael Jackson Tribute Concert, apparently even artists are missing money. Doesnt look promising.”

“@Ivy_MJJC @misschiviouss @loakim45 #unpaidMJTalentTeam Keep tweetin guys, we need ppl to notice. Noones paid, guess that means charities too. wud really appreciate you posting it guys, they can’t be allowed to get away with it.”

Another user, Aaron Mavinga, wrote: “HELP! I worked on the #MJtributeCONCERT last month and Global Live Events gone bust. PLEASE RT message #HELPGETMEPAID #unpaidMJTalentTeam.”

It’s not just Twitter-ers who are upset at GLE either – Ester GillT-Pleasure Gill said on the M4Tribute official Facebook page, “It’s disgusting that not one person who worked on the concert got paid! A total scam and a real shame to end on! I worked hard on this show and then got told the promoter had not paid any bills at all and went bankrupt over night. What a Scam!! The Promoter should be ashamed of himself for ripping off hard working crew!”

Nothing official has been said by GLE and Stereoboard cannot confirm these accounts are true, but if they are, there’s going to be many unhappy parties on the administrators creditors list. Stereoboard are currently seeking comment.

(Stereoboard) - Quando Stereoboard scrisse per la prima volta di Global Live Events, erano una società afflitta da polemiche in corso e l'argomento più il famigerato era il Michael Forever Tribute tenutosi al Millennium Stadium di Cardiff il mese scorso.
C'era il boicottaggio da parte dei fan di MJ dicendo che si trattava di una truffa per fare soldi, i scrissero che non era un semplice tributo al Re del Pop e che i biglietti erano troppo costosi.

Quindi è stato un po 'sorprendente quando il concerto (apparentemente) è andato avanti senza alcun problema - a parte il fatto che i Black Eyed Peas si tirarono fuori all'ultimo minuto tra le voci sospette che stavano per sciogliersi.
Dopo il concerto, sorgono aspetti probabilme mai di sentir parlare prima - infatti fino ad ora, come si evince, la società è andata in "amministrazione controllata" con i lavoratori e il personale che ha lavorato nello show che non sono stati pagati per il loro lavoro, secondo quanto riferito da utenti su Twitter e Facebook.

La notizia arriva dopo che alcuni dipendenti apparentemente non pagati hanno portato la notizia via Twitter per avere voce, utilizzando il hashtag # e # unpaidMJTalentTeam HELPGETMEPAID.
E non sono solo alcuni dei backstage dell'equipe non sono stati pagati, un utente ha scritto che il team di gestione della manifestazione non è stata pagata e nessuno degli artisti che si sono esibiti al concerto. Inoltre le associazioni di beneficenza, tra cui il AIDS Project LA e il Princes Trust, potrebbero non aver avuto le donazioni promesse dai fan.

Mentre Stereoboard non può confermare queste voci, un utente Twitter di nome Dom Pisani ha twittato e scritto sulla società in questi ultimi giorni, dopo che sembra aver appreso che GLE abbia bloccato i pagamenti.
Ha ricevuto decine di re-tweet e messaggi di sostegno da parte dei fan di MJ che perseguitarono i promotori nel non andare avanti con il concerto.

Scrive il 10 Novembre: "Non mi ha colpito che i promotori di Global Live Events hanno bloccato i pagamenti a tutti coloro che hanno lavorato instancabilmente per il concerto Tributo a MJ e non pagati! #unpaidMJTalentTeam.” # UnpaidMJTalentTeam ".

E quanto proseguito con molti messaggi, tra cui: "Ancora nessun pagamento dal Michael Jackson Tribute Concert, a quanto pare anche gli artisti non sono stati pagati. Tutto questo non sembra promettente ".

Non è solo Twitter che ha sconvolto GLE - Ester GillT-Pleasure scrive sulla pagina ufficiale di Facebook M4Tribute,
"E 'disgustoso che nemmeno una persona che ha lavorato al concerto sia stata pagata! Una truffa totale e un vero peccato per come è finita! Ho lavorato molto in questo show e poi il promotore non non mi aveva pagato tutte le fatture e se ne sono andati in bancarotta durante la notte. E' una truffa! Il promotore dovrebbe vergognarsi di se stesso per aver strappato del duro lavoro alla gente! "

Nulla di ufficiale è stato confermato da GLE e Stereoboard non può confermare che questi racconti siano veritieri, ma se lo sono, ci saranno molti amministratori infelici nella lista dei creditori. Stereoboard è in attesa attualmente di commenti.

Katherine Jackson LIVID Over Unpaid Workers At MJ Tribute Concert




Katherine Jackson is upset she had anything to do with the recent Michael Jackson Tribute concert -- telling TMZ, Global Live better take care of the workers they allegedly failed to pay.

Scores of crew members recently went on Twitter to slam Global Live -- the concert producers -- and insist the company stiffed them after they busted their asses for the event.

Katherine's lawyer tells us, "After Mrs. Jackson did all she could to help promote and make this a great event for all of Michael's fans, she is extremely displeased to hear that concert promoters have allegedly failed to pay their bills."

The lawyer adds, "Katherine is hoping that they step up and take care of their obligations." So far no word back from Global Live.

Michael Jackson Tribute Promoters File For Bankruptcy
Global Events LLC, company behind last month's 'Michael Forever' concert, reportedly owes thousands to contractors.


The company behind last month's controversial Michael Jackson tribute concert has filed for bankruptcy, reportedly due to massive debts owed to contractors who worked on the show. Global Events LLC, the promoters of the "Michael Forever" concert in Wales, have turned their finances over to U.K.-based accounting firm RSM Tenon, according to the Welsh newspaper Western Mail. Tenon told the paper that they are "currently conducting our initial review of the business," and reports state that Global Events owes "thousands of pounds" to workers, including members of the U.K. broadcasting union Bectu.

The "Michael Forever" tribute concert was held on October 8 in Cardiff, Wales, and though the show went on — featuring performances by Christina Aguilera, Jamie Foxx, Cee Lo Green and Ne-Yo — it was beset by difficulties from the onset. The Jackson estate expressed their disapproval that they were not consulted over use of Jackson's image, Jackson's brothers Jermaine and Randy called into question the timing of the concert (given the then-ongoing trial of Jackson's former physician, Dr. Conrad Murray), and in the days leading up to the show, announced headliners Kiss were pulled after lead singer Gene Simmons reportedly made derogatory comments about the late King of Pop.

The Black Eyed Peas and Jennifer Hudson — both of whom were also announced as performers at the show — also pulled out before the gig.

Global Events was established in March by producers Michael Henry and Chris Hunt, though according to the Western Mail, both men left the partnership on the day of the concert. When contacted by the newspaper for comment on the company's bankruptcy, Henry said, "All enquires about Global Events should be made [to RSM Tenon]."
