Report: Conrad Murray Filming and Shopping Documentary

David McNew-Pool/Getty Images(NEW YORK) -- Conrad Murray is still in the midst of an involuntary manslaughter trial in the death of Michael Jackson, but that reportedly hasn’t stopped the doctor from quietly filming a documentary that’s being offered to major TV networks, the New York Post reports.

Sources tell the newspaper Murray has sold the rights “to his story” to an unidentified production company that has been filming him as the trial progresses. The source says the company is now shopping the documentary around to various TV networks for $1 million as part of a package deal that would also include a video diary and a sit-down interview with Murray. It’s not known how much money Murray would get from any deal.

The source tells the Post, “A news division that pays for the documentary will end up with a side deal of getting the sit-down with Conrad. It’s crafted in such a way for a news division that doesn’t pay for interviews.”

The report says the production company has already filmed a long interview with Murray in case he is found guilty and taken immediately into custody.

The Post says a CNN rep confirmed they were pitched the Murray package but passed on it. Other sources tell the newspaper NBC is close to making a deal. A spokesman for Murray's legal team declined to comment on the story.

Murray faces up to four years in prison if found guilty of giving Jackson a fatal dose of the powerful anesthetic propofol prior to the singer's death in 2009.

NEW YORK - Conrad Murray è ancora nel bel mezzo di un processo per omicidio colposo per la morte di Michael Jackson, ma questo a quanto pare non ha fermato il medico dal filmare tranquillamente un documentario che viene offerto alle reti televisive più importanti, dice il New York Post.

Delle fonti hanno rivelato al giornale che Murray ha venduto i diritti "per la sua storia" ad una società di produzione non identificata che lo sta filmando mentre il processo va avanti. La fonte dice che l'azienda sta proponendo il documentario a varie reti televisive per 1 milione di dollari come parte di un pacchetto che comprenderà anche un diario video e un'intervista con Murray. Non si sa quanti soldi Murray otterrà da qualsiasi accordo.

La fonte dice al Post, "Una divisione news che pagherà per il documentario, otterrà l'intervista con Conrad. E' strutturato in questo modo casomai la divisione news non paghi per le interviste".

Il rapporto dice che la casa di produzione ha già filmato una lunga intervista con Murray nel caso in cui fosse giudicato colpevole e preso immediatamente in custodia.

Il Post dice che un rappresentante della CNN ha confermato che gli è stato proposto il pacchetto di Murray, ma hanno declinato. Altre fonti raccontano che il quotidiano della NBC (il Today Show, ndt) è vicino a fare un accordo. Un portavoce del team legale di Murray non ha voluto commentare la vicenda.

Murray rischia fino a quattro anni di carcere se trovato colpevole di aver dato a Jackson una dose letale del potente anestetico propofol prima della morte del cantante nel 2009.
