Top Secret MJ Videos Protected by Armed Guards!

The last videos of Michael Jackson were so top secret, they were transported in an unmarked truck, accompanied by armed guards in the dead of the night ... this according to new docs filed in the Conrad Murray manslaughter case.




You ask what Conrad Murray has to do with MJ videos? Well, Dr. Murray wants to see ALL of the rehearsal videos shot for the doomed "This is It" tour. Murray's lawyers believe it could show Michael was in such a frail condition ... there were many reasons for his death other than Propofol.

Murray's lawyers subpoenaed the tapes, but now Sony Pictures -- which has possession of the videos -- is objecting for several reasons. Sony claims there are more than 20 boxes of videos and it would cost $200,000 to log and reproduce all of them.

But in the docs, Sony describes how top secret the videos were to the studio. Sony lawyers say, "When they were transported to the Sony lot in Culver City, the transport in an unmarked truck was accompanied by armed guards in the dead of the night."

When the tapes were in an editing bay, security guards were posted outside the door and no Internet access was allowed in the room.

And a Sony honcho also submitted a declaration which says the videos "have a high monetary value inherent in their potential for future uses. Those uses include one or more 'anniversary editions.'"

Bene, il dottor Murray vuole vedere TUTTI i video girati delle prove del "This Is It" tour. Gli avvocati di Murray ritengono che potrebbero mostrare come Michael era in totale stato di fragilità, vi erano quindi molteplici e diverse ragioni per la sua morte causata dal Propofol.

Gli avvocati di Murray hanno citato in giudizio i nastri, ma ora Sony Pictures - che ha il possesso del video - si oppone per diversi motivi.
Sony afferma che ci sono 20 scatoloni di video che sarebbero costati più di 200 mila dollari per registrarli e riprodurli.

Ma nella documentazione, Sony descrive come i video in studio siano Top-Secret.
Gli avvocati della Sony affermano: "Quando il lotto Sony fu trasportato a Culver City, il trasporto in camion anonimi fu scortato da guardie armate nel cuore della notte."

Quando i nastri erano in fase di editing, le guardie di sicurezza erano appostate davanti alla porta e non era consentito l'accesso a Internet in quella stanza.

Un alto dirigente della Sony ha anche presentato una dichiarazione dove afferma che i video "hanno un alto valore monetario intrinseco nel loro potenziale, per usi futuri. Tali usi includono uno o piu 'Anniversary Edition'".

Attorneys for Michael Jackson's doctor want access to raw footage that was used for the star's posthumous concert film, "This is It." But Sony Pictures is fighting the request.

Lawyers for Dr. Conrad Murray and Sony attorneys are due in court Thursday to argue whether material should be turned over. The Sony team has filed hundreds of pages of documents arguing against the release.

Prosecutors plan to use clips from "This is It" to show Jackson was in good health just before he died. The defense wants to show otherwise. They want to see over 100 hours of raw footage of Jackson's concert rehearsals.

Murray is charged with involuntary manslaughter in Jackson's death from an overdose of the anesthetic propofol and other sedatives. His trial is set for September.

Gli avvocati del Dr. Murray vorrebbero visionare tutti i filmati non compresi nel montaggio del film TII, ma la Sony Pictures sta tentando in tutti i modi di ostacolare la loro richiesta.

Oggi, i legali di Murray e della Sony sono attesi in tribunale per discutere della questione. La Sony ha presentato centinaia di pagine di documenti per bloccare la pubblicazione del materiale inedito.

La procura intende utilizzare clips tratte da TII per dimostrare che Jackson era sano prima di morire. La difesa, invece, intende dimostrare esattamente il contrario.

Judge hints jurors may see raw video of Michael Jackson's last days


Los Angeles (CNN) -- Raw video of Michael Jackson's last days is not covered by laws protecting journalists from court subpoenas, making it likely that Sony will have to let lawyers use its video in their defense of Dr. Conrad Murray, a judge said Thursday.

Lawyers for Murray, who faces trial for involuntary manslaughter in the pop star's death, argued that the unseen rehearsal video could show that Jackson was ill and physically weak.

Prosecutors contend that Jackson died from an overdose of a surgical anesthetic that Murray gave him to induce sleep.

Sony Pictures, which bought the video from Jackson's estate, is fighting the subpoena from Murray's lawyers for access to about 100 hours of video that was used to produce the "This Is It" documentary, released several months after the singer's June 25, 2009, death.
Dr. Conrad Murray: 'I'm an innocent man'


The judge has given the prosecution permission to show clips from the movie to jurors during the trial, which is scheduled to start in September, but the defense wants to use video left on the cutting room floor.

Since Sony was under a contractual obligation with the estate to not use anything that showed Jackson in "a negative light," the unused video may be helpful to the defense, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor said.

The judge gave Sony a week to work out technical details with the defense for a way they can view the raw video without the risk of it leaking.

Sony's lawyer said the public release of the raw video could hurt the studio's plans to use it in other productions, such as an anniversary edition of the documentary.

"If they become part of the public record as an exhibit, we have a whole different problem," Sony attorney Gary Bostwick said. "That would immediately become viral on TMZ or some other website."

Defense lawyers were ordered to narrow their subpoena request for the video, which Pastor called "remarkably over-broad."

Michael Jackson hired video photographers to record his rehearsals as he prepared for his comeback concerts in London, scheduled for July 2009. His estate later sold the video and documentary rights to Sony for about $80 million.

Jackson was pronounced dead by an emergency room doctor at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. The Los Angeles County coroner ruled that his death was caused by an overdose of propofol, a powerful surgical anesthetic, in combination with "the contributory affects of the benzodiazepines."

Murray, who was hired as Jackson's personal doctor in the months leading up to the concert, was later charged with involuntary manslaughter in his death.

"Michael is not with us today because of an utterly inept, incompetent, reckless doctor, the defendant Conrad Murray," Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney David Walgren said in his final arguments at Murray's preliminary hearing in January.

Murray's lawyers suggested that a frustrated and sleepless Jackson may have self-ingested the fatal dose while the doctor was out of his bedroom.

The defense is hoping the raw video will show Jackson's weakness and frustration as the concert dates neared.

Judge approves viewing of Jackson footage
Defence lawyers and prosecutors in the involuntary manslaughter case against Michael Jackson's doctor won permission to view raw footage that didn't make it into the concert movie This Is It.
The lawyers want to show excerpts from the movie to demonstrate Jackson's physical condition before he died.
However, the ruling also sets the stage for the singer to become the posthumous star of the upcoming trial.
At one point in the court hearing, Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor asked if prosecutors wanted to show the entire movie to jurors, but the issue was tabled for later discussion.
Deputy District Attorney David Walgren initially asked to show excerpts of the actual movie compiled from rehearsals two days before Jackson's death on June 25, 2009.
Defence lawyers, however, asked to see out-takes not used in the movie and requested the time frame begin 10 days before Jackson died.
Walgren said prosecutors want to see the same raw footage that is viewed by the defence.
Defence lawyer Nareg Gourjian objected to the prosecution's request to sit in on the private screening, saying the subpoena was issued by the defence.
Walgren countered that it would be "silly and a waste of time" for him to get a separate subpoena and the judge agreed.
Pastor said both sides can go to Sony studios beginning on Tuesday and view 21 boxes of audio-visual materials that have been estimated to capture 100 hours of rehearsal time. Jackson was preparing for a widely anticipated London concert and died just before he was to leave for Britain.
Dr. Conrad Murray, hired as Jackson's private physician for the tour, is charged with involuntary manslaughter, accused of giving Jackson an overdose of the powerful anesthetic propofol and other sedatives. He has pleaded not guilty and is due for trial in September.

Tuttavia, la sentenza stabilisce anche che il cantante diventi quindi la stella postuma del processo imminente.

Il dottor Conrad Murray, assunto come medico privato di Jackson per il tour, è accusato di omicidio colposo, accusato di avere somministrato a Jackson una dose eccessiva del potente anestetico propofol e altri sedativi. Si è dichiarato non colpevole ed il processo è previsto per settembre.
L'udienza è avvenuta un giorno prima del secondo anniversario della morte di Jackson.
