“Michael Jackson, The life of an icon”: a Londra la prima del docu-film

Ieri il debutto a Londra del docu-film “Michael Jackson – The life of an icon“, un omaggio al re del pop a due anni dalla sua scomparsa. L’anteprima mondiale, che si è tenuta all’Empire Cinema di Leicester Square e alla quale hanno partecipato molte celebrità della musica, del cinema e della televisione, è stata trasmessa in streaming sul Web.
Dopo la proiezione, un esclusivo after-party popolato da molte star mondiali che hanno voluto omaggiare il Re del Pop.

Prodotto dall’amico di infanzia di Jackson David Gest e diretto da Andrew Eastel, il film tributo racconta la vita Michael Jackson attraverso il ricordo dei familiari, colleghi e di tutti coloro che hanno avuto la fortuna e la possibilità di conoscerlo, e si propone di ripercorrere la vita personale e artistica del re del pop, dall’infanzia fino agli ultimi anni segnati dalle accuse di pedofilia e dai processi giudiziari.

Alla prima presenti la madre Katherine, il fratello Tito, la sorella Rebbie e molte persone che hanno contraddistinto la vita dell’artista, come gli avvocati Thomas Mesereau e Susan Yu, coloro che hanno contribuito a far assolvere Michael Jackson da tutte le accuse di molestie.
Il fim uscirà in Italia in Blu-Ray e DVD il 23 novembre e conterrà immagini delle esibizioni dell’artista e fotografie inedite di famiglia.
Sarà un omaggio al “king of pop” più grande di tutti i tempi e un occasione per riflettere sull’uomo Michael Jackson, sulle sua grandi doti professionali e umane ma anche sulle sue fragilità e insicurezze.

Gest: Nessuno può sostituire Jackson

Non sopporto quando si vedono questi film in cui qualcuno sta cercando di giocare Michael Jackson. "Ha funzionato bene nel film perché Ray Charles Jamie Foxx è stato così brillante e sapevo Ray Charles e credo che avrebbe mai approvato. Ma io non vedo nessuno raffigurante Michael Jackson.

Gest: No one can replace Jackson

David Gest doesn't think any actor is up to the task of portraying Michael Jackson on screen.
The producer, who this week released the DVD documentary Michael Jackson: The Life Of An Icon, said no one could play his late friend The King Of Pop.
When asked who would star as Jackson in a film of his life, David replied: "Nobody. I can't stand when you see these films where somebody's trying to play Michael Jackson.
"It worked well in the Ray Charles film because Jamie Foxx was so brilliant and I knew Ray Charles and I think he would've approved. But I do not see anybody portraying Michael Jackson."
David also insisted he wasn't trying to make money out of his connection with Jackson.
"People have tried to cash in since his death but I feel this is very different because I knew him as a friend, growing up, for more than four decades," he said.
"I think the documentary really shows who the Jackson family is. You keep learning things in this documentary, it's not a rehash, it's not a show where you're going to see all those famous dances - which are wonderful.
"This tells you who the man is behind the celebrity and it shows you warts and all, but it shows you he was a very good human being."
David said the star's children - Prince, Paris and Blanket - are also set to watch the DVD with their grandmother, Katherine Jackson.
"The kids haven't seen it yet but Katherine is definitely going to show it to them next week, she told me she was," he added.
