MICHAEL JACKSON AUDITORIUM (October 11, 1989)

On October 11, 1989, Jackson has this to say on being honored with the "Michael Jackson Auditorium" plate, symbol of then renamed Gardner Street Elementary School from Los Angeles, California: "I’m deeply touched and honored that the PTA, principal and faculty members, that students have been so kind as to dedicate the Auditorium, where I sat as a child, in my honor. I will never forget that the children are our future, and without them, mankind would become extinct. I thank Mrs. Gerstin, I love you, and Ms. Rose Fine (the Jackson 5’s former tutor), I love you, and the Garden Street School associates and all the children. I love you. Thank you." After being presented with the plaque, a student presents him with a key to the school, then Jackson joins the student choir in singing "We Are The World", after which he unveils the new renamed auditorium and is given a tour of the school. While visiting his old classroom, he autographs the wall with the marker which reads: "Michael Jackson - Love the children".

Il giorno 11 ottobre 1989 Jackson è onorato con la targa "Michael Jackson Auditorium" e dice: "Sono profondamente commosso e onorato che il PTA ed i membri della facoltà e gli studenti sono stati così gentili da dedicare a me l'Auditorium, dove ero seduto da bambino. Non dimenticherò mai che i bambini sono il nostro futuro, e senza di loro l'umanità si estinguerebbe. Ringrazio l'onorevole Gerstin, le voglio bene, e la signora Rose Fine ex precettore dei J5), ti voglio bene, e il Garden Street ed i suoi collaboratori scolastici e tutti i bambini. Vi voglio bene. Grazie".
Dopo la consegna della targa uno studente gli dà la chiave della scuola, poi Jackson si unisce al coro degli studenti a cantare "We Are The World", dopo di che svela il nuovo auditorium rinominato e fa un giro della scuola. Mentre visita la sua vecchia classe, egli autografa il Muro con il marcatore che recita: "Michael Jackson - amore ai bambini".
